Making A Dress for the Spring Equinox | DIY Fantasy Inspired Gown

Hello, and happy belated start to the spring! In this video I'll be making a dress (and cape) inspired by the spring equinox - because not only is it my favourite season, but there is so much beautiful plant and animal life flourishing that it seems almost wrong NOT to honour such an occasion by getting creative. However, I do not wish to promote the frivolous purchase of new garments without first considering the environmental costs. We are currently experiencing the worst environmental crisis of the century, and cheap, 'fast' fashion is making it possible to own far more clothes than was ever historically possible - or necessary. One person won't save the planet, and eco-friendly alternatives can be expensive, but something we can all do (without needing to spend any money at all!) is simply BUY LESS. Buy less new clothes. Upcycle your old clothes. Swap outfits with your friends. It doesn't have to be brand new to be new to you! With this in mind, every piece of fabric used to create this outfit is upcycled or scrap, sustainably sourced from a local thrift shop.
