Yes, railways can supply supermarkets

It's often argued that railways can't handle the distribution of consumer goods to supermarkets. But the major Swiss supermarkets rely on rail freight to supply their shops. Unfortunately, New Zealand supermarkets hardly use the railway for their supply chain. That is a matter of choice.
