Sculptor & performance artist Ioane Ioane embarked on a four year journey to explore his cultural roots through the art of building a Va’aalo (traditional Samoan bonito fishing canoe) and discovering master va'aalo carver Mulitalo Malu Fautua of Lano village in Savai'i, Samoa.
