John Deere 400 Teardown!

🔽Check out my Merch Store🔽 https://workshop-rebuild.creator-spri... The John Deere 400 has made it into the workshop and it's ready to get dismantled! It drove all the way in and I hope I can make it drive out once I'm done with the complete rebuild. In today's video I'll share with you the teardown process of the John Deere 400 Garden tractor. I have a bunch of experience working on the JD300 Series tractors and I must admit, the JD400 has a very similar setup. This made everything much easier to disassemble. The panels around the machine are almost identical, just bigger in size and they are fastened with more bolts. Once all the panels were off the machine, I was able to have a good look at all the parts within the frame. The 400 series frame is much larger and it has a bunch of parts hidden within the two frame rails. Once I understood what was involved within the frame, I went ahead and took the engine out and worked my way towards the back of the machine. I left the rear end of the frame and the front axle too. That way, I can push it out and give it a good, clean before I continue. All the parts that I took out of the tractor will have to be cleaned, assessed, repaired/rebuilt and possibly some will have to be purchased. Once all the parts are checked and in order, I will start to sand, primer and paint the parts. This process usually is usually the same for all my projects, but I will try my best to make every project interesting to follow. Let's hope I can get this beast back together very soon!
