INCREDIBLE 2500 FPM Mitsubishi Elevators & Observatory! - Yokohama Landmark Tower, Yokohama, Japan

I seriously didn't think I'd still be going this many years later, but here we are! I hope Ducy Claus was good to all of you, but in addition to whatever he may have brought you, you guys deserve a present from me! A present in the form of a video of what are the FASTEST Elevators in Japan and the 3rd fastest elevators in the WHOLE WORLD!!! A year and a half ago, I finally got to ride the Fastest Elevators in the U.S.! But fast forward to this past Summer, and I got to ride some elevators that got EVEN FASTER!!! And get this, these elevators have traveled at their speed of a whopping 2500 FPM EVER SINCE this building opened in 1993, and these travel 500 FPM FASTER than the One World Trade Center despite the fact this building isn't even 100 floors or 1000 ft tall! The fact these travel 69 floors and 896 ft at the speed they do is just INSANE and MIND BOGGLING as an American! Yes, in case it isn't obvious enough, these elevators were indeed completely modernized if not fully replaced a few years ago, but they kept the speed the same and in my opinion the mod was PHENOMENALLY done! The cabs are super nice even if arguably a bit basic, and I LOVE the MASSIVE indicators that just rub it in your face as to HOW FAST you're actually going! For those who are curious as to what 2500 FPM actually FEELS LIKE, I didn't feel it too much going up aside from a gentle pressure that feels just a BIT more intense than the Edge and 1WTC elevators in NYC did. Going DOWN however, it felt almost like being on an airplane that was touching down for landing it was THAT thrilling and intense feeling! I'll even go as far as to say it ALMOST feels like you're freefalling, but controlled in a way to prevent you from totally feeling like you actually are. I will note that it is MUCH cheaper to visit Tokyo DisneySea than ANY of the American Disney parks, but if $60 is still not money you want to spend on that just for Tower of Terror, just COME HERE and spend what was NOT EVEN $15 USD and ride THESE THINGS as they WILL deliver you near Amusement Park thrill for a fraction of the price! In addition to the elevators, we also get a look out the Observatory and get views of Yokohama, which is actually Japan's 3rd largest city. Unfortunately it was very foggy so we couldn't see Tokyo from here, but my main reason for coming here was definitely the elevators and yes, they VERY MUCH DELIVERED! The elevators here have DEFINITELY earned their spot in my Top 10 Best High Speed Elevators I've ever been on and I shouldn't have to explain why they do. No, these don't have the fanciest cabs out of all of the many high rise elevators, let alone Observatory Elevators I've been on, but the SPEED and SHEER INTENSITY of the ride MORE than makes up for it and while these may be INSANELY fast and intense, Mitsubishi managed to install 2500 FPM elevators that DON'T shake or rattle around in the shaft AT ALL and these elevators are very much to testament to Mitsubishi's quality and their ability to install such stupid fast elevators cause they can, and I hope that we'll eventually see more installations like this in other parts of the world in the future. I can't say it enough times that these were TRULY amazing and a once in a lifetime experience in regards to their speed.
