On May 6th, at the Confartigianato headquarters in Rome, a discussion was held between the leaders of Confartigianato, Cna, Casartigiani, and Claai, along with union leaders Maurizio Landini (CGIL General Secretary), Daniela Fumarola (CISL General Secretary), and Vera Buonomo (UIL Confederal Secretary). The meeting marks the beginning of a discussion with the unions that will focus on specific topics. Marco Granelli, President of Confartigianato, reaffirmed the value of dialogue between the social partners in addressing the impact of a complex and uncertain macroeconomic environment. Granelli emphasized his agreement with the unions in reaffirming the centrality of sound bargaining, referring to national collective agreements signed by the most representative organizations. The President of Confartigianato opposes introducing by law contract selection criteria that are not based on the true representativeness of those who sign them. Granelli also called for joint and effective action to combat contractual dumping, fueled by the creation of bilateral entities and fictitious funds that harm workers and healthy businesses. Regarding the issue of measuring the representativeness of employers' organizations, now defined as stringent and essential, Confartigianato's position is that this matter should be defined through an agreement between the main confederations and not by legislative imposition, fully respecting the autonomy of each union. Granelli asserted the autonomy of the artisan contract model, capable of rapid renewals with significant wage increases, and praised the bilateral system built with the unions, which guarantees protections for one million workers and 240,000 businesses through participatory and non-adversarial relationships. Regarding the reform of the Framework Law for Crafts, the President of Confartigianato reiterated the need to adapt a 41-year-old regulation to the modern production environment.
