The impacts of tourism on pastoral livelihoods, especially when it unsustainably changes land-use patterns. The unintended consequences of CAP regulations, which have made it particularly complicated for pastoralists to survive in this political and social context. Sara’s deep understanding of the landscape and its biodiversity, and her passion for restoring the Mediterranean scrublands while advocating for the important role that pastoralists play in this restoration. Her explicit objective of ‘taking care of the world’ — a powerful reminder of the care, knowledge and responsibility that pastoralist women bring to ecological restoration.
