Allueva (Teruel)

Allueva is a municipality in the Autonomous Community of Aragon. Allueva belongs to the Jiloca region. It is located in a valley known as Cañallueva, which borders the Sierra de Cucalón mountain range, in the section of the Sierra de Oriche and the Sierra de Pelarda. It is located next to the source of the Aguasvivas River and near the Martín Pancrudo and Huerva rivers. Despite its small population, with only 30 registered inhabitants in 2024, it is worth noting that in the 1860s and 1869, its municipal area grew to over 500 inhabitants. This resulted in the incorporation of the towns of Fonfría and Salcedillo into its municipal area. However, this grouping did not last long, as it was dissolved at the beginning of the 20th century. Chronicles tell of people from Allueva who participated in the Battle of Cutanda, near Calamocha. This battle took place in 1120 between Alfonso I the Battler and the army commanded by Ibrahim Ibn Yusuf.
