Tsunami arriving at Onahama harbor The Japanese text is followed by an English translation. 小名浜港に津波が到達した時の様子を捉えた映像。陸上に水が上がったのは、午後3時22分。 (※お天気情報カメラで撮影した映像のため、音声は含まれておりません) 海面が徐々に上昇したと思いきや、みるみるうちに水があふれ出し、港内に駐車している車に迫る。 逃げようとするも、周りを水に囲まれ、立ち往生するトラック。中の人たちは、やむなくトラックの屋根に避難する。 カメラが転じると、いつの間にか魚市場も水没し、たくさんの箱やコンテナが海に流れ出している。 灯台のある防波堤では、先端を激流が襲っている。 港湾内の中ほどでは、何隻もの船が連なり、傾き、激しい波にさらされている。大型船も座礁している。 また住宅地付近を見れば、何隻もの小型船が木の葉のように押し流され、住宅地の奥へとなだれこんで行く。 やがて、引き波が発生すると、今度は無数の浮遊物が、湾内に吐き出され海面を漂う。 波が和らいだ一瞬の間をつき、トラックから降りて避難する人たちの姿も映し出された。 水位が下がり、市場からは、大量の水が勢いよく吐き出される。 陸地や岸壁に取り残された多くの船が、無残な姿をさらけだしている。 Footage: Capture of tsunami reaching Onahama harbor. When the camera switches over, the fish market has sunk underwater. Boxes and containers flow out to sea. At the breakwater, where the lighthouse stands, a torrent is attacking its tip. At the center of the harbor, many boats are stretched out in a row, tilted, and left to be cradled in harsh waters. Even the larger boats have been driven to land. Looking at the residential neighborhood, a number of smaller boats have been washed out like floating leaves, making its way further into the neighborhood. When the backwash eventually forms, a countless amount of floating objects are thrown out into the harbor and cover the water surface. We see a person evacuating from his truck when the waves calm down for a slight moment. The water level drops and a great volume of water gushes out from the market.
