Beresford Dale & Narrowdale Hill: A Classic Peak District Walk

Join me on a classic Peak District walk (with a bit of a twist)! I walk Beresford Dale and then onto the less frequently visited Narrowdale. This area of The Peak District is steeped in ancient history. I take an (optional) detour up Narrowdale Hill to see the Bowl Barrow on the top. Nearly all of the peaks and summits in this area are the sites of ancient burial mounds. From Narrowdale I head over to Gypsy Bank with its spectacular views down into Wolfscote Dale. I take the steep path down into the dale and then follow the River Dove back towards Hartington. It was a cold, misty day. There was no one around in the morning and I got to see a deer in Beresford Dale! The light was eerie and the tops covered in snow.
