Crunch time for the work-from-home movement
The pandemic swept away decades of resistance to working from home. Now what? If you’re wondering whether your boss will continue to let you from a distance and for how long, you’re not alone. Employers are also navigating new waters, and you shouldn’t wait for them to find answers, says Gudela Grote, professor of work and organizational psychology at ETH Zurich. She’s helping companies redesign their operations to give the home office a bigger role. With resistance still “lurking around the corner,” this is the time for negotiation, she says.
