Shannon leads the southern lords' army of Battania to relieve Aselai, while Caesar is withdrawn from the Barca Battalion to defend Lageta. With Shannon and Liza marching north and south, Lageta's defenses become lighter, and the armies of Western Emperor Galios, the renowned general Clothor, and the wealthy Apis attack. The army attacked fiercely. Caesar and the Lageta garrison attempted a desperate counterattack, but the battle was turning against them, and it seemed only a matter of time before the city fell.
