Leisure Ways DB-101 10" Circular Fan with Hilarious Instruction Manual

The Leisure Ways DB-101 10" Circular Fan made by Ching Hai in January of 2008. This particular one was sold at the Big Y Supermarket during Summer of 2008. It sold for $14.99, which inflates to about $22 today; which seems kind of steep price for a small off-brand fan sold at the supermarket. I suspect this was intended to be a knock-off of the Lasko Breeze Machine, which currently sells for about $30, so maybe this wasn't such a bad deal after all. I have a lot of nostalgia to this unit, but not too many memories. This was only used for a season or two at the first house we lived in. It was of course brought along to the next house when we moved, but my fan collecting activities started to take off at that time and much better models made their way into my collection, causing this one to fall out of favor. This isn't a terrible fan, but it does leave something to be desired at that price point. The noise level is reasonable and the air flow is quite strong up close, but the breeze doesn't travel very far. Somewhat surprisingly, the motor is in fact super quiet as noted on the box. The blade is significantly out of balance. This is from well into the cheap era, but you can tell it was still much better made than a lot of what you can get today. There was actually the intention of it being used enough and lasting long enough to need to be cleaned. The cleaning process is (very poorly) detailed in the manual, and is quite simple using all standard size screws and only requires one tool. Speaking of the instruction manual, the manual that came with this thing is pure comedy. It is one of my absolute favorite pieces of Chinglish I've ever seen. All these years later, it's still so funny to me I can't even read the sentences.
