The Public Prosecutor's Office of São Paulo (MPSP), through the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (GAECO), the Federal Revenue Service, the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), the São Paulo State Treasury Department, the State Attorney General's Office, the Military Police, and the Civil Police launched Operation Hidden Flow this Thursday morning (May 28th). This operation brings together investigations by the Public Prosecutor's Office as a continuation of Operation Hidden Carbon. The latter revealed the advance of organized crime in the ecosystem of the fuel market, payment institutions, and investment firms. The objective of the new operation is to advance the dismantling of the scheme of fraud, tax evasion, and money laundering in the fuel sector through the seizure of evidence of the illicit activities and the identification of other possible participants. The main focus of this operation is six more fintech companies discovered and the adulteration of fuel using naphtha (solvent).
