CENTRAL LOMBOK, KOMPAS.TV - Trade Minister Budi Santoso responded to the closure of 25 Alfamart and Indomaret outlets in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. According to Budi, the closure of these modern retail outlets is related to permits issued by the local government. Budi explained that the construction of minimarkets is regulated in the Detailed Spatial Planning Plan (RDTR). Permits for the establishment of these outlets are also the responsibility of the local government. Although he does not yet know the details of the reasons for the closure of these 25 modern retail outlets, Budi confirmed that there were no issues beyond permits. Previously, hundreds of modern retail employees visited the Central Lombok Regent's office, demanding a solution to the closure of dozens of outlets where they worked. The Central Lombok Regency Government confirmed that the closures were carried out because the modern retail outlets were deemed to have violated the minimum distance regulation from traditional markets. The Central Lombok Regency Government recommended that the modern retailers transfer employees to other outlets or adjust their business locations in accordance with applicable regulations.
