This Is What We Want Our Kids To Remember

Building a no-dig vegetable garden on our off-grid homestead in New Zealand sounded simple enough… until we realised everything standing in the way. After spending the last few years transforming raw rural land into our family homestead, we’re finally taking another big step towards producing our own food and becoming more self-sufficient. But before we can plant a single seed, there’s a lot of work to do. In this episode, we fence stock out of our future house section, build a new woodshed, move and stack mountains of firewood, clear land for an orchard, tackle invasive possums, and begin creating our first no-dig vegetable gardens. Along the way, the whole family gets involved as we work together towards a shared goal — building a more self-sufficient future on our off-grid property in rural New Zealand.
