Jeweled Caddis Larva
This pattern imitates the common green caddis larva, sometimes called the green rock worm. I use the glass beads because they represent both the color and the segmentation of the abdomen of the larva. The beads also help weight the fly. These free living caddis larvae are common in rocky streams, so trout are used to seeing, and eating them, throughout the year.
