Under The Rim Trail, Bryce Canyon National Park- May 2026

Iconic Bryce Canyon with its Hoodoo's and geology sits at the top of the Grand Staircase that makes up Southern Utah. Fewer than 1% of the 2.5+ million annual visitors to Bryce Canyon National Park hike the 23 mile Under The Rim Trail. Even fewer do it from the direction we did it. Water scarcity, huge vertical gains, took us through some of the most breathtaking canyon country I have had the pleasure to walk with a backpack! The man who's name sake is the reason why it is called Bryce Canyon once said "Its a hell of a place to lose a cow." I couldn't agree more. It was wild in every way!
