Set against the backdrop of London during the Blitz of World War II, the story follows Stella Rodney (Patricia Hodge), an elegant, independent woman working for the government. Her life is upended when she is approached by Harrison (Michael Gambon), a shadowy and deeply unsettling intelligence counter-spy.
