ABT Tournament Fishing Forster, NSW | The Dream Tour Ep. 3

My first ever ABT Bream Tournament — and I'm doing it at Forster, NSW, up against some of the best bream anglers in the country. The ABT is Australia's national-level bream fishing tour. I'd signed up to test myself in the non-boater division, which meant being randomly paired with a different boater each day — fishing from the back deck, chasing my best three fish while my boater worked their top five. Pre-fish day gave me a look at the Forster system — rock walls, oyster racks and the famous spot known as The Paddock — plus a chance to dial in a surface lure modification I'd been developing: a modified Daiwa Grub rigged weedless on a worm hook that walks across the top and drives the bream mental. Then a snapped sheer pin put an early end to the day and the real comp began. Day 1, I drew gun angler Scott Wilson, fishing from the back of his unreal boat. Seeing the fleet of Skeeter, Triton and Ranger rigs scatter across the arena was an awesome sight. The wind had other ideas fast. Day 2, I drew John Glover — different conditions, different fishing — and I left my fishing down to the wire. What went down is why I've got the bug for fishing tournaments. 🎣 Gear & Setup Used: Daiwa Bream Rods & Reels Daiwa Grub (modified weedless surface lure) Cranka Crab Daiwa Infeet Kodachi Vanfook Magic Beak Worm Hook Weedless Rig Lowrance Sounder 📍 Location: Forster, NSW Mid North Coast, NSW 🐟 Target Species: Yellowfin Bream Subscribe for the final episode of The Dream Tour — and find out how the series ends.
