Our films would be very different if the role of women in the construction of audiovisual narratives were more visible. A graduate of the Film and Television School at the National University of Colombia and in Advertising and Marketing from the Grancolombiano Polytechnic, she worked as a producer of educational and cultural television at the National University of Colombia. In 1998, together with Ciro Guerra, she founded Ciudad Lunar Producciones, the production company behind the feature films La sombra del caminante (2004) and Los viajes del viento (2009). Within her film work, Gallego participated as a production assistant on the film Sumas y restas by director Victor Gaviria, winner of the India Catalina Award for Best Film in the Colombian competition. She is currently a member of the Colombian Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences, where she represents producers, as well as a member of the Guilds Committee representing the Association of Producers and Directors El Triciclo, and a member of the Ateliers du cinéma Européen - ACE Network.
