I made a big life decision and finally purchased a Canon R5C… in November of 2025. I am also switching to Canon RF lenses. I will also explain why I finally decided to go with Canon RF lenses. The R5C has an 8k sensor and this camera can shoot 8k60p internal raw in video mode (especially with the new Canon LP-E6P batteries) but doesn’t have open gate, which every videographer, cinematographer, and filmmaker appears to all of a sudden need.
