VW Pressure Plate and Throw-Out Bearing Comparisons
A look at VW Pressure Plates and Throw-Out Bearings and their differences (type 1 beetle style), both early and late style. Early Style pressure plates and throw-out bearings came in beetles up through 1970...Late style began in 1971 on up. Also, a brief and not complete history of the different transaxle cases that came out for the type 1. Lastly a little tip on removing the early style pressure plate collar for use with the late style throw-out bearing. Missing from our line-up is the three-armed style pressure plate, but they come with collar which is removable.
