What does a caterpillar look like through an electron microscope? - Have you ever seen #2
A Caterpillar - Have you ever seen . This is a video of a cassus casus or goat moth under a scanning electron microscope or SEM. The sample was taken from a dead specimen found in a moss sample. This episode is part of a series where I look at insects under the microscope. I have the opportunity during my PhD (doctorate) to use a Zeiss scanning electron microscope (SEM). So I thought, why not use it whilst I am here. In future episodes, I'll be looking at other stuff, organic or inorganic such as other insects, cells, bacteria, or blades, electronics, recording devices, K7, CDs, etc... And if you are still reading, then post a comment of stuff you would like to see in future episodes. ;) References : Goat moth : http://ukmoths.org.uk/species/cossus-...
