How I Added EXTRA Frets to a Guitar to Make It An INSANE Microtonal MONSTER!

I took a boring old guitar and added extra frets to turn it into a 42 fret microtonal monster! In this video I show the process of how I added the new quarter-tone frets, and of course… how it sounds. This thing plays notes I didn’t even know existed! I turned the cheapest electric guitar I could find on marketplace into a microtonal, quarter-tone monster by adding extra frets between every standard one. This creates a 24-TET (24 notes per octave) setup — double the pitch resolution of a regular guitar! In the video, I walk through: Measuring and placing the new frets Cutting new fret slots Fret installation and leveling And of course… the first test play Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 1:42 Prepping the Neck 3:39 Locating the New Frets 5:14 Cutting the New Fret Slots 7:35 Installing the New Frets 10:35 Leveling and Crowning the Frets 12:47 Polishing the Frets 13:32 Repairing the Nut Slot and Making a Nut 16:31 Re-Assembly 18:25 Final Result The result is a guitar that sounds very unusual — a totally different way to play and hear music. It’s weird, it’s fun, and it turned out way better than I expected! If you enjoy builds, weird instruments, or general guitar chaos, I hope you’ll enjoy this one!
