Panel Discussion | Home: Class, Belonging and the Politics of Place | Poetry Day Ireland 2026

This panel discussion formed the concluding part of Home: Class, Belonging and the Politics of Place, presented in association with Poetry Ireland for Poetry Day Ireland 2026. Following an evening of live poetry performances and an interactive audience call-and-response inspired by You're Not From The Same Class As Me, the discussion explored the Poetry Day Ireland theme of Home through conversations around class, identity, belonging, education, access, community, and the politics of place. Hosted by Temper-Mental MissElayneous (Elayne Adamczyk Harrington), the panel featured contributions from: • Conor O'Malley – Community Access and Outreach Worker, Technological University Dublin, musician and songwriter • Shaen Delaney – Community activist, addiction practitioner, and community development professional The discussion also welcomed contributions from audience members, creating an open and participatory conversation on lived experience, working-class identity, access to education, creative spaces, and what it means to feel at home within our communities and institutions.
