Poets Karl Parkinson and Temper-Mental MissElayneous (Elayne Adamczyk Harrington) perform their collaborative spoken word piece, You're Not From The Same Class As Me, as part of Home: Class, Belonging and the Politics of Place, presented in association with Poetry Ireland for Poetry Day Ireland 2026. Performed at Flux Art Studios, Dublin 2, the piece explores class, identity, social mobility, and belonging through a dialogue between two voices. It served as the catalyst for an interactive audience call-and-response, opening into a wider panel discussion on class, access, education, and the politics of place. Content advisory: During this live performance, Karl Parkinson inadvertently read from the original published version of the poem rather than the edited version prepared for the event.
