Anti-Discrimination Laws Vs. the Right to Discriminate

Bob Levy, chairman emeritus of the Cato Institute, will discuss the apparent tension between anti-discrimination laws, on the one hand, constitutionally guaranteed freedoms of speech, association, and religious exercise. Bob will explore those issues in the context of a 2023 Supreme Court case – 303 Creative LLC v Elenis – which tested whether a business owner can be compelled to design a website for a gay wedding.
