Kenny Battle is someone worthy of celebration, not just for his remarkable achievements, but for the inspiring legacy he has left in our community. As a proud Auroran, Battle helped guide the West Aurora Blackhawks Varsity Boys Basketball team to a third-place finish in the 1984 IHSA Class 2A State Basketball Championship. He then took his talents to the collegiate level with the Flyin' Illini, captivating audiences across the nation and playing a vital role in their historic NCAA Final Four appearance. Today, at our City Council meeting, we honor Kenny for his dedication, athletic prowess, and infectious enthusiasm.
