Otras formas de hacer arquitectura | Axel Becerra Santacruz | TEDxUniversidadMichoacana
In a world where so many architects are essentially doing much the same thing, we need a renewed vision, to open the door to creativity, and to generate OTHER WAYS OF DOING ARCHITECTURE. Currently, there are a considerable number of contemporary projects and practices that collect and converge alternative proposals for the practice of architecture compared to tradition. This divergence allows us to reflect on projects where traditional processes prove incomplete, leading to the construction of different ways of thinking and acting in relation to the emerging challenges of architecture and design in Latin America. He is currently the Director and Full Professor B at the Faculty of Architecture of the UMSNH. He was the coordinator of the new DDA (Doctorate in Applied Design) program and the MDA (Master's in Advanced Design 2017-2022), and co-founder of the UIT (Territorial Intelligence Unit) research group and Lab Bio2 (Bioclimatic and Biomaterial Laboratory). He teaches the TARU (Rural-Urban Action Workshop) at the Master's (2016) and Bachelor's (2020) levels, where a methodology based on design through experimentation and collective action has been implemented. He is co-editor of the book *Marginal Urbanism: Informal and Formal Development in Latin American Cities*, Cambridge Scholars edition, published in 2017. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
