Découvrir les lieux où j'habite CM1 - CM2 - Cycle 3 - Géographie - Découvrir mes lieux de vie
#travel #transport #geography #learningnation #education #homeschooling #history #grades 5 and 6 #primary #primaryschool #elementary #children #cycle3 #school #child #children This video for grades 4 and 5 (cycle 3) aims to explain to students how to understand and observe their living space. I show that their daily lives begin with the school and the path they know, but that this space is part of a larger whole. I invite them to look around them: the buildings, the shops, the parks, the town hall, the residents. All of this forms the community, the place where we live every day. I present the different types of landscapes in France: the city with its buildings and its liveliness, the countryside with its fields and tranquility, the mountains with their snow-capped peaks and unique climate, and the coast with its beaches and ports. I remind them that each place has its own characteristics, sounds, smells, and atmospheres. I also explain that municipalities are organized into communities of municipalities and regions, and that together they make up France. The country isn't limited to mainland France: there are also overseas territories, such as Guadeloupe and Réunion. Then, I place France in a broader perspective, within the European Union and the entire world, connected through trade, travel, and the internet. At the end, I offer short riddles to check understanding and help children retain the concepts. Throughout the video, I want to show that everyone can better understand their environment, from the smallest space, like a neighborhood, to the entire world. My advice: As a parent, you can easily help your child discover their surroundings. When you walk together, take the time to name what you see: a building, a store, a pedestrian crossing, a green space. This helps your child better navigate and expand their vocabulary. Daily journeys then become small learning opportunities. You can also compare different environments you are familiar with. If you live in a city, talk about what changes when you go to the countryside or the seaside. If you go on vacation, highlight the differences in landscapes, sounds, and atmospheres. These simple observations help your child understand that each place has its own personality. At home, it's interesting to look at a map together to locate your town, your region, France, and Europe. This helps your child connect what they see every day to a broader view of the world. Finally, don't hesitate to discuss local life: the role of the mayor, local festivals, and the people who work there. By sharing these moments, you give your child a taste for their environment and the awareness of being part of a larger whole. Skills: – Understand the different types of places where you can live in France: city, countryside, mountains, and coastline. – Discover the organization of the territory, from the town to France and Europe. – Learn to observe your daily environment and better navigate your spatial awareness.
