Grace & Graham - Perissa Meltemi Village - Santorini

Welcome to Santorini! Hey guys, welcome back to Grace and Graham! Today, we are taking you inside our little slice of paradise here in Santorini. Now, when most people think of Santorini, they think of the massive cliffs and Caldera views in Oia or Fira. But we decided to do things a little differently this time. Exactly. We wanted a mix of traditional Greek charm, relaxation, and easy beach access. Which brought us right here to the Meltemi Village Hotel in Perissa. And spoiler alert: it did not disappoint. Let’s show you around! Section 1: The Meltemi Village Vibe First things first—the hotel itself. Meltemi Village is nestled right in the heart of Perissa. It has that classic, gorgeous Cycladic architecture—vibrant white walls, deep blue accents, and stunning flowers everywhere. It feels like a quiet oasis, but it’s literally just a few minutes’ walk from the main action. We’ve been staying in a Meltemi Excelsior Suite with private outdoor and hot tub, and honestly, waking up here every morning is a dream. Can we talk about the pool area for a second? It is massive. Perfect for lounging after a long day of exploring, and the pool bar makes a mean iced coffee—or a cocktail, depending on what time you ask Graham. Hey, it’s five o'clock somewhere, and I am officially on holiday mode. Section 2: The Famous Perissa Black Sand Beach But as lovely as the hotel pool is, you can’t come to Perissa and not visit the beach. Meltemi Village is only about a five-minute walk to the famous Perissa Black Sand Beach. Walking on volcanic sand for the first time is wild. Pro tip from us to you: bring beach shoes. That black sand gets hot under the midday sun. I learned that the hard way. And the entry to the water is quite tricky, you sink into the shelf! He really did. It was a very ungraceful jog to the water. But once you’re by the sea, it’s incredible. The water is crystal clear, and you have this dramatic view of the Mesa Vouno mountain right next to you. Section 3: The Surrounding Area & Food What’s great about the area surrounding Meltemi Village is the beachfront promenade. It’s lined with brilliant local tavernas, bars, and cafes. You can rent a sunbed for the day—many places give them to you for free if you buy a drink or lunch- thats what we did—and just watch the world go by. We had some of the best fresh seafood and traditional Greek gyros right here on the front. Not to mention Poseidon restaurant's Moussaka! It’s a completely different vibe to the north of the island. It’s laid-back, it’s affordable, and it feels much more relaxing. Section 4: In conclusion So, if you’re planning a trip to Santorini and want a base that gives you luxury accommodation but keeps you steps away from the beach, we highly, highly recommend checking out Meltemi Village. We’ve absolutely loved our time in Perissa so far. If you enjoyed this look around our hotel and beach day, make sure to smash that like button! And don't forget to subscribe, because in our next video, we’re heading out to explore the rest of the island. You won't want to miss it. See you in the next one! Bye guys!
