Grace & Graham - Portofino via Genoa

Arriving in Genoa in Italy, we could see it had been a busy port for many centuries. But our main aim was to get to Portofino on the Italian Riviera, a glamorous Mediterranean must-see! And a favourite of the Beckhams! We soon jumped on an open-topped bus tour that took us right along the coast road with some spectacular sights! The bus was great for taking videos and photos, especially in the lovely weather. The trip seemed very quick and we soon arrived in Portofino. From there, it was a short walk down to the village. Down by the harbour it was just stunning and we didn’t know which way to look! There were loads of cafes and restaurants and we soon found one for a leisurely lunch, taking in the view! An alternative way to arrive was by ferry and that seemed very popular too! The harbour was just spectacular and really lived up to all the hype! There was a really relaxed feel to the place and not too touristy! We couldn’t stop taking videos! On the walk back up to catch the bus back, there were plenty of little shops and a glimpse of some of the upmarket hotels. The return journey was a little faster along a different route but there was still plenty to see! Then back in Genoa and preparing for our next day down to Naples and a tour of Pompeii.
