Vegetable Liquid Soap Recipe Materials We will divide the materials into three groups: oils, lye solution, and additives. Other materials (additives) 150 g lauryl ether (increases foam production). 200 g Amide 90 (extracted from coconut and acts as an emulsifier, stabilizer, and attacks grease). 20 g citric acid or boric acid (to adjust the pH if necessary). 30 ml of essence (of your choice) for every 1 liter of finished neutral liquid soap. Soap-based dye in the color of your choice. Rubbing alcohol to spray on the foam that forms on the surface of the liquid soap (do not use alcohol near a flame). 150g glycerin (a skin moisturizer). 400g sugar (a catalyst for the glycerin). 400g hot water to dissolve the sugar. Procedures for making natural, plant-based liquid soap. Weigh the oils that will be used in the recipe. Place the oils in a stainless steel or enameled bowl and heat in a double boiler until the temperature reaches approximately 75°C. Weigh the sodium hydroxide and measure the amount of water needed to dissolve it. Place the water in a bowl, then add the sodium hydroxide, stirring until completely dissolved. Do not use hot water. Avoid breathing the vapors, as they are toxic. When the temperature of the sodium hydroxide (lye) solution is around 60°C (144°F), slowly add this solution to the oil mixture while stirring vigorously with a mixer. Blend the mixture until it becomes creamy, similar to soft polenta. A small amount of alcohol should speed up the saponification process. Let the mixture cook in a double boiler for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. After the mixture has cooked in a double boiler for 40 minutes, add boiling water and use a mixer if necessary to help dissolve the mixture. As you add hot water to dilute the cooked soap, perform a cooling test in small portions to ensure the desired consistency (at this stage, you will need to add approximately 10 liters of boiling water). Let it cook continuously over low heat for another 20 minutes, stirring constantly. Turn off the heat and add the lauryl. When the temperature is around 40°C, you can add the Amide 90, glycerin, and sugar solution. Check the pH. Liquid soap should have a pH between 8.0 and 9.0. Measure the pH of the solution with the pH indicator paper. Use a citric or boric acid solution to neutralize the solution. Now you can add the essence. Then add a few drops of the colorant and mix well. After the resting period, separate the impurities. Place the liquid soap in a resealable glass or plastic jar and let it rest for a week. This resting period allows any cloudiness caused by the essence or the presence of insoluble soap to settle to the bottom of the jar. If a whitish film forms at the bottom of the jar, carefully remove the clear liquid to avoid remixing these impurities. Keep the jar in a cool place away from direct light. Pack and sell. Good luck.
