Gateshead Flyover A167 Demolition #14 July 2026

Contractors closing in on completion of 5 Bridges roundabout. When demolition of the Park Lane roundabout starts Gateshead council needs to help more by at least re-opening Askew road again, and suspending the bus lane on the High Street direct to the Tyne Bridge and alleviate town centre congestion and air pollution! Meanwhile the flyover which carried an estimated 40.000 vehicles per day is still diverted either through Gateshead town centre or the western by-pass!
