Audi Q8 hybrid 2024 review: 60 TFSI e | New PHEV plugs into luxury SUV fight with BMW X5 xDrive50e

The 2024 Audi Q8 has evolved with the times, with the internal-combustion model ushering in an all-new plug-in hybrid variant, the 60 TFSI e. Of course, the premium Large SUV segment is already brimming with PHEVs, including the BMW X5 xDrive50e, Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid and Volvo XC90 Recharge Plug-in Hybrid, among others. Point being, it's up against some stiff competition. So, what sets the Q8 60 TFSI e apart from the pack? Well, for starters it's packing a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 engine under the bonnet, which comes with an electric motor to produce a formidable 340kW of power and 700Nm of torque. Better yet, its 17.9kWh lithium-ion battery enables an electric-only driving range of 59km of the NEDC combined-cycle test. A good start, then.
