Two weeks have passed since Yuki Adachi, an 11-year-old sixth-grader at Sonobe Elementary School in Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture, went missing on April 6th. On the 6th, police continued their search throughout the city with a team of 40 officers. They have received approximately 230 pieces of information so far, but none have yielded any useful leads. The situation changed six days later, on March 29th. A relative of Adachi found her school bag, known as a "running backpack," in the mountains about 3 kilometers northwest of the elementary school. Since then, police have reviewed security camera footage in urban areas and elsewhere, but have not been able to confirm Adachi's whereabouts. They have also searched the mountains where the bag was found and nearby ponds, but have found nothing other than the bag itself. A meeting for parents is scheduled for the evening of the 6th, where they will explain the reasons for the delay in contacting parents that day and the introduction of a school counselor.
