#support #ukraine #help We were in Zaporizhzhia, where once again we saw many apartment blocks that had been hit by drones and rockets. We realised that over the past years, we had seen hundreds of damaged apartment buildings, but had never actually gone inside. So we spoke to people on the street and asked what exactly had happened. Before long, the building’s concierge joined us. She did not find our questions strange at all and calmly began telling us about the strike, which had taken place only recently. The residents of the apartment were not home at the time of the explosion. But in the apartment next door, it was different. A young man was killed there, and his wife was injured. She is currently in hospital. The concierge then asked us: “Do you want to see it from the inside? I want the whole world to see this.” She showed us everything. The kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. Much of it was still exactly as it had been at the moment of impact. Even the fridge was still full of food. It feels strange and cold to walk through an apartment like that, knowing that just a week earlier a happy family had been living there, with plans for the future. And once again, it was a civilian target.
