Pay Up or Else

The plaintiff says he and the defendant have been friends for years, so he loaned her money to get an apartment, but she got arrested for beating up her boyfriend. He then loaned her bail money, but she hasn’t repaid that either. He’s suing her for all he’s owed. The defendant says she and the plaintiff dated, and the money was a gift.
