A large-scale police operation, codenamed "Cobra 67," is underway in Caltanissetta, with the Flying Squad executing 22 arrest warrants. The members are accused of armed criminal conspiracy aimed at drug trafficking and distribution, and numerous other crimes, including theft, receiving stolen goods, possession and carrying of weapons, crimes against the person, and in particular threats, violence, and damage intended to intimidate victims. According to investigators, the gang was led by Manuel Mosca, Elia Salvatore Di Gati, and Giuseppe Di Gati, who allegedly ran a vast drug dealing ring around pubs and nightclubs in the Nisseno area. Using violence and threats, the organization also allegedly imposed trusted bouncers on the owner of a nightclub, forcing them to pay a fee for providing security outside the venue. To convince him, the gang had provoked a series of fights inside the club, harassing customers and damaging several cars. A case of stalking was also confirmed against a woman who had decided to end a relationship with one of the gang members, who on one occasion had beaten a man found with his ex-girlfriend.
