After preparing the window openings in previous episodes, it's time to complete one of the most important steps in the entire renovation: Window Installation: The Most Important Step (That Nobody Tells You) | Ep. 3 In this episode, I show the entire preparation process before the final installation of the windows: from removing the old asphalt to cutting and applying the XPS panels, reinforcing with fiberglass mesh, applying different mortars, and installing the granite sill. Throughout the video, I also explain why I chose each material and how I tried to eliminate thermal bridges, improve insulation, and prepare the house to receive the future ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite System). In the final part, I share one of the most important decisions of this project: why I decided to definitively eliminate the old shutter boxes and opt for external PVC blinds. I explain the advantages of this solution in terms of thermal insulation, humidity, maintenance, energy efficiency, and year-round comfort. This video is entirely based on my experience during the renovation of this house. I'm not a construction professional, but I strive to study, learn, and share each step transparently so that anyone can follow this transformation.
