Railfanning at Kansas City's Union Station - 09.25.17

Filmed 09/25/17 This video has everything else I filmed in downtown Kansas City. The rest can be seen on my previous railfanning video. But here we are at Union Station and like usual, there's rarely a long wait here before something shows up. The line through here and most of downtown are Kansas City Terminal's though it is part of the BNSF Transcon. On the east side of the KC area, it becomes the Marceline Sub which goes by Atherton, MO, one of my most common railfanning sites. Once the two BNSF trains clear, it doesn't take long before AMtrak's 311 shows up, arriving from St. Louis, MO. Not long after the train i emptied at the station, it goes over to Santa Fe Junction where it's turned around (becoming the 316) for it's trip back to St. Louis. Once the train is stopped back at the station, it will spnd the next couple of hours getting serviced and supplies replenished for the trip back across Missouri. In the meantime, traffic resumes and the first train to show up is a small Union Pacific local. The lead unit is a former SP GP60, and an early model at that (with it's more rounded dynamic break section). I can't find anything on it's previous SP number, my UP rosters I use for reference don't even list a #1125. So I don't know what it once was. Also take note of it's small PTC array behind the AC unit on the cab top. Looks like a fairly simple detail to build. Anyway, that's it for now. I have part 2 of the SD40N ops from the club set for this Sunday, and I need to get something filmed this coming Saturday, so like usual, there's plenty more on the way. Thanks for watching!
