PART 9 of Brickville, CO… The Journey
As I finish the main part of The FlatIron Skyscraper Building and add more details and an extra floor to The Grand Emporium, I can’t help but reminisce that not too long ago I only had an idea… To build a modest MILS based LEGO city. I hadn’t even discovered Rebrickable or even skyscrapers yet! I knew I wanted to make my city roughly 7x13 baseplates in size. I was limited by keeping my storage area functional (my wife thought 7 baseplates wide was too big) and so I kept my city “small”. This proved to be a benefit as well as a limitation because I knew I only wanted the “best” buildings in my city. I didn’t have the luxury of space to throw just anything into my city just to fill a 32x32 stud gap. However, now that I’ve discovered the world of LEGO MOC’s (My Own Creations), I’m torn between all the options, but guess this is also good as it keeps me from going too far down the rabbit hole ;-) Next up on my “to do” list is The Art Factory, but this may be awhile as obligations, work and better (warmer) weather take me away from building.
