UN CALASOLE INCREDIBILE - Pesca sub Puglia
I DIVED INTO THE COLD WATERS OF BRINDISI IN SEARCH OF SPRING SNAPPER! I FOUND LOTS OF FISH, LIKE MULLETS AND BREAM BREAST... BUT ALSO A MONSTER WEIGHING OVER 5KG! I caught it freediving in Brindisi, in anything but easy conditions: freezing cold water*, a sea that required attention and a lot of energy management. One of those days when just getting in the water wasn't enough... you had to understand what was happening underneath. From the first dives, I realized the fish were there. Despite the freezing temperatures, I started making several interesting sightings: gilt-head bream, sea bream, and above all, clear signs of predators in the area. The sea was alive, but patience and precision were required. During one of the most intense moments of the day, he appeared. A truly impressive snapper, estimated at around 5kg, moving decisively but at the same time extremely suspicious. An encounter that immediately gets your pulse racing, where even the slightest mistake could jeopardize everything. I can't pinpoint the exact location, but the sighting confirms that the area is in full activity. I continue fishing, alternating between positions and movements among the rocks, trying to read the fish's movements as best as possible. The sea bream are starting to appear more consistently, but they remain very alert and difficult to approach. The cold water is making itself felt, the fatigue is increasing, but the feeling is that the right moment has yet to arrive. And this is where analysis comes into play. According to Fishie's forecast, there would be a peak in fish activity during a very specific window. So I decide to resist, stay focused, and make the most of that moment. A decision that proves decisive. Right during that peak, while I'm moving among the rocks in the shallows, the right opportunity finally arrives: a beautiful sea bream, estimated at almost 2 kg, appears in the perfect spot. In an instant, a single, clean movement, and I manage to land a catch that's worth the entire fishing trip. A catch built over time, not by chance. The fruit of observation, patience, and the ability to stay in the water even when conditions are challenging. This is true spearfishing: not just catches, but decisions, expectations, and moments to be interpreted. This video isn't just a sequence of catches. It's the sea, it's reading the conditions, it's true spearfishing, taken in the shallows, where we often underestimate what can happen. If you love spearfishing for predators, if you enjoy intense, thoughtful fishing sessions with no shortcuts, this video is for you. To keep track of all this, I record every trip, every catch, and every sighting in Fishie.app, a web app designed for freediving spearfishers who want to turn their sensations into concrete data. 📊 Why Fishie.app is essential: It allows you to record every catch (weather and sea conditions, visibility, species encountered, catches) It builds a real personal history, not based on memories It helps identify recurring patterns: best times, favorable conditions, more active species It supports forecasting future trips by cross-referencing past data with current conditions It helps you fish less randomly and more strategically This type of fishing was born from this very approach: less improvisation, more method. It doesn't mean having a guaranteed result, but it dramatically increases the chances of being in the right place at the right time. 👇 Tell me in the comments: Would you have entered the water with rough seas and 2-meter visibility, or would you have postponed?
