NON ME L'ASPETTAVO! - Pesca Sub Toscana

THE STORY OF WHEN I DIVED FOR A SPEARFISHING TRIP IN THE TUSCAN ARCHIPELAGO WITH MARCO OF BLU SKILL. I ENCOUNTERED AND CATCHED FISH I'D NEVER FISHED BEFORE, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, I FOUND AND CATCHED AN ABSURD FISH, A NEW PERSONAL RECORD FOR ME! In this video, I take you with me on a spearfishing trip in the Tuscan Islands, during one of the most fascinating yet challenging times of the year: winter. A sea that doesn't forgive mistakes, challenging conditions, and often limited visibility are the perfect context to test your experience, understanding the environment, and adaptability. The goal of this outing wasn't to "quantify" but to search for winter predators, understand if they were present, where they might be moving, and above all, why. In winter, the sea changes completely: currents shift, feeding frenzies concentrate in specific areas, and fish behavior becomes much more selective. It is precisely in these conditions that the most unexpected encounters can occur. During this fishing trip, I found myself facing fish I had never seen before, species that are rarely encountered at other times of the year or in "easier" sea conditions. Every aspect, every dive, and every movement was carefully considered based on the environment, the seabed, and the signals the sea was giving at that moment. One of the most intense moments in the video is the encounter with a large predator, a fish that perfectly represents why I love winter spearfishing: a few seconds, a lot of tension, and the awareness that certain opportunities only come when everything has been done right, from the chosen time to the approach in the water. This outing confirms once again how crucial it is to choose when to go to sea, not just where. In recent years, I have learned that it is not enough to "go out often," but that it is much more effective to go out at the right times, when the probability of an encounter is truly highest. Recording your catches, analyzing conditions, and comparing them over time allows you to understand patterns that would otherwise go unnoticed. The video isn't just a catch, but a comprehensive account of strategy, observation, and adaptation—three fundamental elements in modern spearfishing. You'll find not only action, but also reading the sea, interpreting signals, and making decisions that make the difference between a dull day and a memorable one. If you love spearfishing in winter, predators, islands, challenging seabeds, and situations where nothing is guaranteed, this video is for you. Watch it until the end, because each phase of the catch shapes what happens next. In recent months, I've started paying more and more attention to the entry phase, the timing, and the weather and sea conditions, recording each trip and comparing it with previous ones. Keeping track of your catches, catches, and sightings allows you to recognize patterns that, over time, help reduce improvisation and increase the likelihood of success, especially in winter. That's why today I record every trip, every catch, and every sighting on Fishie.app, a web app designed for freediving spearfishers who want to turn their feelings into concrete data. 📊 Why Fishie.app is essential: It allows you to record every catch (weather and sea conditions, visibility, species encountered and caught) It builds a real personal history, not based on memories It helps identify recurring patterns: best times, favorable conditions, more active species It supports forecasting of future trips, cross-referencing past data with current conditions It helps you fish less randomly and more strategically It keeps all the data to yourself and doesn't share it with ANYONE!
