Let's get back to work on another blessed day in the countryside! 🤠 Santa Maria Farm In today's video, we share with you one of the moments we've been most looking forward to in recent months: the birth of our heifer Luneta! She, a product of the Magenética program in our region, was highly anticipated. Both Guilherme and I had a hunch that it would be a female... Were we right? Come see this beautiful little calf, as plump as her mother! Besides this joy, we show the real handling of when the calf is born, how Guilherme treats the umbilical cord and the exact timing. But not everything is perfect, and we're here to show a drama that we suspected from the beginning: Luneta gave birth while only giving milk from three teats. Guilherme shows it when he empties the milk and explains what might have happened (such as the habit of one calf suckling from another). But in the countryside, we don't give up! We've had cows with 3 and even 2 udders that were milk champions, and Luneta is already showing that she's going to be very good and, best of all, super tame for her first calf! To close the day, we show the change of our semi-free-range chickens to the paddock, giving them more space and bringing the whole group together to grow strong and healthy.
