This year's collective retrospective, organized by the Görültü initiative in collaboration with Sinematek, and the accompanying book, allowed Turkish audiences to encounter this uncompromising political filmmaker, whose works are often overlooked in both the UK and the world, in such a comprehensive way for the first time.
