Ankole Schools Off to a Flying Start as National Ball Games II Get Underway in Gulu.

Schools from the Ankole Zone made a strong start to the 2026 USSSA National Secondary School Ball Games II in Gulu, registering impressive victories across several disciplines on the opening day. In volleyball, Ntare School, Mbarara High School, St. Kagwa, Kitabi Seminary and St. Elizabeth all opened their campaigns with convincing straight-set wins. The winning momentum extended to handball, where Isingiro SS and St. Jerome Ndama all secured victories, while St. Joseph's Vocational School, Mbarara, began their U-17 basketball campaign with a commanding 47–27 win. The championships, hosted in Gulu City, have attracted top secondary schools from across Uganda as they compete for national honours.
