Dubai Based Tycoon Uncle T Injects 10 Million into Mbarara City's Ankole Cup Campaign

Mbarara City Football Team's pursuit of Ankole Cup glory has received a major boost after securing a UGX 10 million sponsorship from Dubai-based businessman Uncle T, through the Uncle Tusiime Destiny Dream Helpers Foundation. The sponsorship was unveiled during a colourful ceremony held on Friday at the Rwamps Credit Finance offices in Rugando, Rwampara, providing timely support as the unbeaten Mbaguta’s prepare for Sunday's crucial Group C fixture against Isingiro District. The Mbarara City delegation was led by Vice Chairman Salim Twaha, accompanied by Edwin Ram (Head of Media, Marketing and Corporate Affairs), Sadam Mugalu (Team Coordinator and Secretary), Kabagambe Prosper (Deputy Head of Finance), and Kalanzi Mukalazi (Team Manager and Deputy Head of Media). The Foundation was represented by its Country Coordinator Valentine Muhereza aka Kachina. Speaking at the event, Kachina said the sponsorship reflects Uncle T's vision of transforming lives and empowering communities through strategic investments in sports, agribusiness, logistics, tourism, and philanthropy. He noted that Uncle T's growing portfolio including the Uncle Tusiime Destiny Dream Helpers Foundation, Rwamps Farmers Football Club, Rwamps Global Tour and Travel (Uganda and the UAE), Rwamps International Fresh Farm Market, and Rwamps Global Air Cargo is dedicated to creating employment opportunities, supporting farmers, promoting sports talent, strengthening agribusiness value chains, and improving livelihoods across communities. Receiving the sponsorship on behalf of the team, Vice Chairman Salim Twaha thanked Uncle T for believing in the Mbarara City project, describing the contribution as a timely morale booster. "We are grateful to Uncle T and his Foundation for standing with Mbarara City. This support gives the team confidence and motivation as we continue our pursuit of Ankole Cup success," Twaha said. The sponsorship comes at a crucial time as Mbarara City prepares to host Isingiro District on Sunday, 5 July at Biharwe Playground. The Mbaguta currently top Group C with eight points from four matches and remain unbeaten. Victory on Sunday will secure their place in the knockout stage of the 2026 Ankole Cup which features 13 districts from across the Ankole sub-region.
