Mulheres negras e a luta por justiça climática no Agreste de Pernambuco

Strength comes from cassava, handicrafts, and the hands of Black Quilombola women from the Agreste region! We woke up on the second day of Caatinga Climate Week in the Quilombos of Castainho and Estivas, in Garanhuns, Pernambuco. There, about 200 families live on 50 hectares of productive backyards, cultivating medicinal plants, music, dance, and handicrafts. Alda Félix and Vanessa Barbosa, from the group Guerreiras Quilombolas do Castainho (@guerreirasquilombolas), speak about great-grandmothers, income, strength, and how ancestry and resilience sustain each other.
